Our Ongoing Luggage Drive: Dignity in Every Journey
No young person should carry their life in a trash bag. Yet that’s the heartbreaking reality for youth in foster care—moving from home to home with their belongings stuffed in garbage bags, and when they age out of the system at 18, leaving with nothing but that same black trash bag that screams “less than.” We’re changing that story. Youth Builder CDC runs a year-round luggage drive because we believe every young person deserves to move forward with dignity.

We accept new or gently used luggage in good condition suitcases, duffel bags, backpacks, any quality luggage that can carry someone’s belongings and their hope for a better future. Drop off donations at our location or contact us to arrange delivery. When a foster youth receives real luggage instead of a trash bag, something shifts. Their head lifts a little higher. They feel seen, valued, worthy. It’s more than just a suitcase—it’s a message that says “you matter, and your journey matters.” One piece of luggage might seem small, but to a young person starting fresh, it can mean everything. Donate today and help us give youth the dignified start they deserve.
